Nightmare
I have to give Fisher homes a no star review. Don't even deserve one star.
Had a home built for my daughter and of course they use the best subs and materials when discussing the build.
End result I could write a book on the poor quality and the cheapest materials they could use. Don't even think about using this builder as you will be very disappointed.
User's recommendation: Go somewhere else as I know you can do no worse!

Verified ReviewerWe have lived in our Fischer Home for over five years and the list is growing fast.
In five years, we have...
replaced the water heater three times.
replaced four bathroom and kitchen faucets and two outside faucets due to poor quality and poor plumbing practices; they didn't flush the water lines after gluing on the fixtures, resulting in buildup of loose CPVC glue clogging shut-off valves. The cheap faucets they used had to be replaced.
Our air conditioner failed after two years.
The roof leaked, and major repair was required.
Rear patio French door seal broke (can't go back to the manufacturer because Fischer Homes workers removed all identity stickers from the door, including the one on the top unexposed door ends that was supposed to remain. There is much more!!!
- Two many to list in this small area
Preferred solution: Spread the word about this terrible company.
User's recommendation: Don't ever buy a Fischer home, new or used. Their quality is extremely poor and their work crews are not experienced builders.

Please read my lips: stay away from Fischer Homes ASAP. Be careful before signing a purchase agreement with them.
They like to victimize in order to keep your deposit. Don't trust them. If they want to give you 6 months to rebuild with them, , they will force you to use their preferred lender, if you decline they will keep your deposit. They will victimize you.
Days to closing, they added undisclosed fees, and our lender disputed that with them. They don't have an alibi. We are demanding that our deposit be returned.
Please be careful when choosing a builder. Stay away from Fischer's Homes.
- Good sales personnel and design center
- Bad management
Preferred solution: Full refund
Low quality workmanship. Asking for trouble!
So they dont compact the gravel poring basement. It will crack.
Also same with driveway and no rebar. They dont want you on site when building because of quality. Some of the first homes in Aberdeen they did not install drip edge for roof. No iceguard along bottom of roof and nothing extra in the valleys before they roof.
Carpet was installed before construction was over and no plastic was installed. Again not allowed on site to see this. Everything costs extra be ready to add 100 k to price. I knew the quality would not be the best but it was worse than expected.
You would be ahead hiring someone to be onsite to watch what they are doing. Good luck
User's recommendation: Not great quality. Beware of the common areas. See if the developer has completed everything before building your house. Such as Dention pond and proper drainage for neighborhood
Upset about leaking window. Vinyl siding came off of the house. Shingles came off the roof. Paint on the vinyl floors. th
The construction manager should do his job. I have texted him.
He got upset. Only takes phone calls. I want proof. He is receiving my messages.
The shingles and vinyl fell off the house. Paint on the flooring. The front window is leaking. Sent the pictures to him.
He said. He will come over.
When he wants. I recorded the conversation.
User's recommendation: Drees homes
4 year old roof and the shingle edges are curling up. They never followed up on some minor fixes brought up at closing.
A four year old roof has shingles curling up. When we called they said the roof is only warranted for a year.
They also failed to fix minor items brought up during closing. I got tired of waiting and calling so I fixed them myself.
Items addressed: Crack/hole in plastic surrounding sliding glass door, wires for garage door opener were broken, GFI outlet was faulty, basement floor is spalled/pitted.
As a side note: one week before closing we notice that a coat closed in the plans was missing! Construction not supervised well!
User's recommendation: If you must deal with Fischer watch the construction closely!
Fischer homes does not stand behind their work
Closed on my Fischer home in November.. Have had electrical shorts.
Furnace miswired. Heat pump never hooked up. Ran all winter on emergency heat. They poured my sidewalk wrong.
The City made them change it. They tore up my yard doing it.
Now they say my sod isnt warrented and they will not return my yard to original condition. They do not stand behind their mistakes.
User's recommendation: Do not buy a Fischer home!

Fischer refuses to correct items needing repair
We have four items from the pre-closing, ninety day and one year report that were recognized by Fischer at the time of the inspections, but they now refuse to do anything
One Fischer rep agreed to correcting these issues, When I mention that Fischer said they asked the rep and he denies it
Which means Im lying, but when I had the conversation with this person, another Fischer rep was with him
Fischer refused to Contact this 2nd Fischer rep
User's recommendation: I can’t and wouldn’t recommend Fischer, as they are too difficult to deal with and quality of work is poor

Verified ReviewerThey like to play the blame game
I bought a condo in the Shire in Alexandria, KY, and moved in February 2024. Within a month, I could not use one of the closets in the master bedroom because of the musty smell in there.
It's now September 2025, and they are saying it's our fault. They suggested it could be the laundry detergent I use, which is a bunch of nonsense. Vertex had someone come out, and he mentioned that he believes the water discharge is not properly vented from the washing machine, and that could cause the musty smell. Fischer doesn't care.
As I mentioned, they blamed my laundry detergent. I would advise not buying or building from them. Additionally, other residents here have also reported that Fischer lies.
I should have listened to my first realtor who advised me not to buy from them, but I didn't. Shame on me.
User's recommendation: Do not use Fischer

Verified Reviewer1 Year warranty review
This review is made after the 1 Year warranty service to be fair with the company and I have to say its the worst decision in my life. Simply do not buy a home built by this company. We have had issues with every single piece of this house.
By words of some of their own Fisher Homes employees that got so sick and tired of coming to my house to fix issues that the hired subcontractors messed up and I quote;
'The problem with us is that lately we are hiring the cheapest contractors, we pay them very little so they tend to come in and do this *** work just to get it over with'. This literally came from 2 different employees at different times, the second one didnt say it exactly like that but implied the same, which leads to all the issues we had, now the biggest one began with the salesman who pushed us to a bigger lot that the one we where thinking of. We already had a lot picked out but the he insisted that the lot we had in mind was going to be a hassle due to an easement it had right through the middle which divided the backyard so he advised to get the bigger one next to it which had the same easement but it was flatter hence it would give no issues in the future. After a lot of back and forward it came to one thing, I asked him if they where going to grade it out, seeded and straw it? and he said that they would... thats exactly what they didnt do, I waited until the 1 year warranty manager came, since the project managers kept saying that if someone could it was the manager on the 1 year and nothing, they told me it was an undeveloped area and left me 3 yards of top soil which was actually dirt for me to fix a quarter of an acre. We ended up having to pay a company 5k to fix it. that's after paying 20k for the lot that we where told it was going to be fixed by them.
25k in now;
Drywall/insulation: For some weird reason I have 3 A/C returns inside a wall on my garage (The warmest part of the house). Because of this on summer when the A/C was in full this wall leaked due to condensation of the returns after 2 visits and a huge stain of black mole they opened the wall and found out that it was not sealed properly and that the insulation was installed backwards. HOW DID THEY PASS INSPECTION??? Not even the 1 year warranty manager knows!. You could go to the basement, stand below the garage wall and you could see to the garage.
Pluming: This guys almost lived here for a couple of months because they couldnt figure it out. When the hot water was used on the second floor, the pipes throughout the house started to make loud clicking sounds, and not little ones, but loud enough for us to be watching TV and you could hear them. (The plummers made the holes of the pipes bigger than usual so the pipes when they extended because of the heat started to make those noises). We had 2 toilets changed because they where cracked and leaked when flushed.
Electricity: When a hair dryer or the electrical fireplace is used for more than 15 minutes the breaker drops on the second floor. No fix there, they just ask us to contact another electrician since theirs said they couldn't do anything.
HVAC: This people came at least 6 times for different reasons. We are 2 thermostats in already, the second floor doesn't cool almost at all in summer, we have to set it to 65 so that it gets to maybe 71 upstairs at night. The A/C was clogged twice, they had to calibrate it another time, we ended up having to call a new company to come in and fix the mess.
Windows: They frost and leak on the inside on snow/winter nights. Literally was told by the window company that they are not built to withstand that type of weather, which also causes them to start breaking down around the corners. (side note: had to wait 7 months for the screens because they kept getting the size wrong)
Flooring: We got the vinyl which was sold to us as a great, durable, option to avoid carpets all around the house. The first day moving in the house its ripped like contact paper.
The gutters where installed so poorly that on windy days they vibrated so much that it made a loud humming sound throughout the whole house since it came from both sides of the house.
The paint they used on the whole house its literally like a chalk prime. You touch it and it stains, lay something on it and it leaves a scratch.
The garage: We paid 5k for an extension on the garage, pretty much for a 4 feet bump out. They didnt even put drywall on it. Simply because its not a living space. Its just studs. 5k and they couldnt put 6 or 7 sheets of drywall on it. Also the garage door has broken down now 2 times.
The landscaping: Beside the backyard mess that they left us. The grass/seeds that they install its the worst quality. No top soil at all, just dirt that grows weeds. No grass.
Floors: You can feel panels popping up while walking.
Siding are starting to come off.
Keep in mind we have live here 1 year
Simply save yourself money, time, work and headaches.
- Location and design
- Cheap materials
- Poor labor
Preferred solution: Nothing from them
Awful
never get weekends off, so you dont have a life basically
They scam customers out of money for there benefit
Managers are rude and just want money!
All they want is money and status
They say you are special when they hire you, they hire anyone.
User's recommendation: Don’t build here

I see why Fischer received so many negative complaints - The process need work , need grace period so a person have enough time to do due diligence rather than trying to trap buyers and no leeway to let the design information which was overwhelming to say the least. Buying a home is a big deal.
My contract with Fischer/Victory Loan was contingent on me being able to sale my home.
I paid $33,577 in total to Fischer. I was targeting mid May to list my home however after receiving many quotes for getting my home ready I found out I need more time, so I had to cancel my contract. I recently installed 2 HVAC systems and Water heater and was charged on my credit card which was maxed out. The remaining repairs window, floors and painting in which I need to do to get the most for my current home so I can afford my new home.
I let Fischer and Victory know of my situation and request all my money to be refunded. They told me they was going to take $14k for permits which permits cost less and plus the land can be bought by another buyer and I am sure they will have to pay for the permits again. Then they charged me $8K in which I did not sign off on because it is not fair.
I expected all monies to be refunded.
Fischer is a big company and surely they can afford to pay me back so that I can get my home ready for sale once repairs are done. I need my money asap.

Without God, your abilities are dreams without power.
User's recommendation: Read contract or take to legal person because everything on it is for Fischer nothing really for the buyer.Dont go by the BBB ratings do your due diligence and dont sign the design contract because you can not change nothing even when the very next day probably the next hour.

DO NOT BUILD WITH FISCHER HOMES! You must point out their mistakes and they will change drawings without notice.
They told us we were "customers that couldn't be pleased". Read the main reasons for poor review and you can judge.
1. Original Construction Purchase Agreement (OCPA) shows the main floor as LVP, with the exception of living room and study. Told us it was an error, refused to honor.
2.
OCPA included a wall of windows in the two story room. They were also on the initial set of prints we received during our first design center meeting (hard copy), but then removed without our knowledge on the digital copy. This was a blatant bait and switch. We NEVER discussed anything about the windows during our meeting and we got multiple quotes to add them later and were told between $15k-$20k.
We asked for them to be added back even if they needed to be smaller by the builder or issue a credit and they refused.
3. OCPA and each agreement after, the covered deck was an included item. Sales Manager told us we needed to pay an additional $17k a week before groundbreaking because they forgot to charge us for it. He told us if we didnt pay the extra, he would pull our contract.
We refused and he finally agreed.
4.We paid $7k to upgrade to solid core, non-textured doors. We asked multiple times to see them before our design meetings and none were made available. We inquired if the solid doors were installed and they assured us they were. A week before closing our agent discussed them with the Field Manager and he agreed they put in the wrong ones.
5.Both sales and design center teams said our collection included tile backsplash to the ceiling in the kitchen.
Our prints only had the backsplash going to the bottom of the upper cabinets and we had to fight to have them make an exception and honor the sales documentation.
6.Houses in our neighborhood range from 650k-1M+ and they use apartment grade PPG paint.
Framing only 16 on center if exterior or load baring wall. Basement floor has 25 crack from the day it was poured.
All they want is for you to sign, then they don't care about what they promised.

Verified ReviewerBullies and liars, no customer satisfaction, and thrives. Worse builders in the market.
Fischer Homes are liars and bullies. They trapped my sister and me in contracts, about which they couldn't care less regarding customer satisfaction or the contract itself.
They have threatened to keep some of our earnest money. We have terminated our contracts with them for lots 571 and 572, based on failure to obtain mortgages and lack of customer satisfaction. We expected full refunds from them, but they refuse to give it to us. We are very upset about this.
We do not have this type of money to give away. This was supposed to be our retirement home.
This does not seem fair at all. Please help with this.

- Are greedy liars and bullies

Buyers who wear BLINDERS!
I have family (Northern Ky) in the building process. Amazingly, they refuse to use a REPUTABLE HOME INSPECTOR during the building phase and before their closing.
I hear the same thing repeatedly: They're a good builder, and the home is NEW, and I trust my agent, yes that's true but, it's the LABORERS they hire that don't understand building codes!!! It could be your fault in the long run for going into a new home with your blinders on. Many of the images containing a (sad story) provided by others on this site did not just instantaneously appear, it was there before the move-in and/or not noticed during the walk-through. To this day, I hear the same thing, an inspector costs too much.
WELL, you either pay upfront for mistake corrections, or on the back end after it's too late. Your choice.
User's recommendation: BE MORE PROACTIVE, HIRE AN INSPECTOR!!
